After 9 years in the Dual Language program, I’m so excited to have the opportunity to travel to Guatemala next summer with my 8th-grade classmates and our families! My parents and my sister Arden will be coming too, which makes it even more special.
We’ll be partnering with Escuela Integrada, where we’ll spend time with students and teachers, serve in the community, make home visits, and use the Spanish we’ve been learning for so many years to build relationships. We’ll also get to experience different parts of Guatemala and learn more about the culture and people.
One thing I’m especially excited about is meeting the child our family sponsors at Escuela Integrada. We’re hoping to visit him and his family in their home, spend time with them, and bring some special gifts for their family.
I’m praying that God uses this trip to help me grow in my faith, serve others, and see how I can use what I’ve learned to love others and share Christ.
