Alysia's Guatemala Mission Trip - Spring 2025

Friends and Family,

I am excited about spending time with my people in Guatemala. When someone asks me why, I gush about the beauty, love, and hope that exist there. What an eye-opening experience that caused me to think about the trajectory of a child with the privilege of education. 

The Guatemalan Relief Assistance for Children's Education Service, GRACES, provides education and support services to children living in poverty near Antigua. I grew up in the U.S. with ease and had a life of abundance. When I visit Guatemala, I experience a feeling of gratitude and generosity that spills over and onto others. It is a thrill to see children's lives change because they can play, attend school, eat, and learn. It changes them, their family, and their community.

Mission work is not about my ability to give something to another in need but a lesson filled with grace, humility, connection, and encouraging faith that God is good. It has changed my perspective on what sacrifice means. Relationships are built, the Gospel works, and this connection keeps me praying for years to come.
